About the Author
Sharmain Harris is a national speaker and trainer on father engagement and prison reentry. After spending 3 years incarcerated, Sharmain worked hard to overcome the barriers to successful reentry into society. Prior to being a speaker, worked at WIC as a father engagement specialist. He is known for taking a fatherhood initiative from grassroots to being known nationally. For his work, Sharmain was awarded the NAACP positive impact award, the 20 under 40 award, and excellence in community action award.
He credits the birth of his first biological child for giving him meaning and purpose in life. His turn-around story is one of perseverance, resilience and dedication. A graduate of Carthage College, he lives in Kenosha, WI, with his wife and 3 children.
